Restrictions Policy

These are the restrictions that we know of, there may be more out there. Customers should check their local and state laws. 


Handguns: Must ship UPS Next Day, UPS Second Day, or Registered Priority Mail 

Handguns and Magazines:  


California: Cannot ship more than 10 round magazines Handguns must be on state approved list  

Note: list is model specific: http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/  

Colorado: Cannot ship more than 15 round magazines or 8 round shotguns  

Connecticut: Cannot ship more than 10 round magazines (This does not pertain to Firearms Dealers or Gunsmiths who are properly licensed)  

Hawaii: Cannot ship more than 10 round magazines (This applies to handguns only)  

Illinois: Cook County: Cannot ship more than 10 round magazines  

Aurora: Cannot ship more than 15 round magazines  

Chicago: Cannot ship more than 12 round magazines  

Cicero: Cannot ship more than 15 round magazines  

Franklin Park: Cannot ship more than 16 round magazines 

Oak Park: Cannot ship more than 10 round magazines  

Maryland: Cannot ship more than 10 round magazines Handguns must be on state approved list and requires spent cartridge https://licensingportal.mdsp.maryland.gov/MSPBridgeClient/#/home  

Massachusetts: Cannot ship more than 10 round magazines Cannot ship any KRISS handguns or rifles Handguns must be on state approved list http://www.mass.gov/eopss/firearms-reg-and-laws/frb/approved-rosters/  

New Jersey: Cannot ship more than 15 round magazines  

New York: Cannot ship more than 10 round magazines (This does not pertain to Firearms Dealers or Gunsmiths who are properly licensed)  

Cincinnati: Cannot ship more than 10 round magazines for rifle and 15 Rounds for handgun  

Cleveland: Cannot ship more than 20 round magazines for centerfire and 30 rounds for .22 caliber  

Columbus: Cannot ship more than 20 round magazines for centerfire  

Dayton: Cannot ship more than 10 round magazines for rifle and 20 rounds for a handgun  

Vermont: (Effective on October 1 2018) Cannot ship no more than 15 rounds for handguns and 10 rounds for rifles Cannot ship bump fire stocks  

Washington D.C: Cannot ship more than 10 round magazines  

Air Guns:  

Delaware: Requires FFL to transfer on all air guns, unless the gun is strictly a BB gun (meaning it cannot fire pellets)  

Chicago: Cannot Ship Any air gun shooting a projectile over .18” or any air gun shooting 700 fps (feet per second) or greater must go to FFL dealer  

New Jersey: Requires FFL to transfer on all air guns (Note: Air rifles with suppressors cannot be shipped to New Jersey)  

New York City, NY (Including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island): Cannot Ship  

North Dakota: Requires FFL to transfer on all air guns (air guns considered as dangerous weapons)  

Philadelphia: Cannot ship  

Rhode Island: Requires FFL to transfer all air gun  

Johnson City, TN: Cannot ship  

Washington D.C.: Cannot ship  

Other Restrictions:  

Blank Firing Guns: Cannot Ship to The Following: Chicago, IL, New York City, NY, and Virginia  

All Muzzleloaders to Illinois: Must go to FFL Dealer for transfer  

Rossi Ranch Hand: Cannot ship to New York  

Butane (BU) (Anything over 33.8oz receives Hazmat fee): Ground Only (UPS), Cannot ship Air or Postal  

Aerosol Canisters (UP): Ground only, cannot ship Air or Postal  

Birchwood Casey Chemical Products: Cannot ship to California  

Melting Point Restrictions for Firearms: Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota (Must check with state and see if the firearm meets the proper criteria)  

FosTech:  

Echo AR II Drop in Triggers cannot ship to the following states: New Jersey, North Dakota, Oregon, and Washington  

Franklin Armory:  

Binary Triggers cannot be shipped to the following states: California, Washington DC, Iowa, North Dakota, New York, New Jersey, and Washington.  

Walther Firearms: The following guns are considered to be assault weapons in the following states and cannot be shipped there:  

HK416 Pistol: California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Washington DC  

HK MP5 SD: Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Washington DC  

HK MP5 A5: Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Washington DC  

HK 416D145RS: Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Washington DC  

Colt M4 OPS: Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Washington DC  

Colt M16 Carbine: Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Washington DC  

UZI Rifle (.22 Cal): California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Washington DC  

UZI Pistol (.22 Cal): California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Washington DC  

Ammunition to California and New York State:  

Wide Open Armory, LLC will not ship orders for ammunition to California or New York. Customers in these states wanting to buy ammo will need to place with a current FFL in California or New York.  

Stun Guns: Cannot ship to: Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, and Washington DC  

Pepper Spray: Please check product description for any state restrictions  

Powder: Can only ship in the lower 48 states (Cannot ship to Alaska and Hawaii) Can only ship Ground
